MWM KD 15 Fuel injector

I am attempting to restore an early MWM KD 15 (1936 vintage?). The last attempt to get it running was over 50 years ago. The "mechanics" that were working on it at that time overloaded it with either and broke the piston rings and piston lands. I have recently replaced the piston and piston rings clean the engine up and attempted to start it. However the fuel injector had been tampered with.
Does anyone know the crack pressure (fuel pressure) at which the injector should fire. The lock nut for securing the pressure adjustment is no longer there and the adjusting cap nut can be turned by hand. I can here the injector spraying when working the hand lever on the side of the engine, but so far all i get is white smoke. There is only a casting number on the injector body "KD 7501" the fuel pump is a Freidrich Deckel PAB11-26486. Thank you in advance for any advice. Ed Allandar, Liverpool, Pennsylvania, USA
