Ahh yess, naturally I forgot about my own thread. The engine had sat in the corner over winter waiting for some nice weather to try and get it running again. I hope to spend some time on it again this weekend.

No worries with your english! I can understand.

The camshaft is set correctly with the crank. The valves move at the right time.
The picture attached shows the bolt holes lined up with the engine as shown in the manual. Hopefully that's correct.

Does anyone know the required thickness of shims to set the injection pump timing for a MAH916? My engine had the shims come off in small pieces and a badly bent metal washer. Its the last thing to figure out before trying to start it.

I've gotten black smoke out the exhaust but it will not run. I think my camshaft was off to the crankshaft gear by a tooth.

Here are some pictures of the pump and the whole engine. Does that show you what you need? The pump had one metal and 6 plastic shims behind it and some fragments of other shims that seems to have been crushed. I have all new shim stock to replace everything with. I appreciate your help!
